Our perceptions of products and the decisions to purchase them are influenced from the structural design to the graphic design used to communicate a compelling story about the product inside. Having spent over 30 years in the packaging industry, we love finding new and different packaging ideas that break the mold and deliver something new, maybe even chancy. This week’s packaged FINDINGS: Dole Fruitocracy™
Dole just introduced a new and improved Dole Fruitocracy™, a replacement for Squish’ems!
As I was walking down the grocery aisle this past weekend I noticed the bright, vibrant graphics sitting by the drab applesauce.
Using multiple colors and shapes in interesting patterns is a great way to stand out. This packaging does just that and has a very unique look. It’s fun and playful, and makes you want to pick it up and take a closer look.
Dole also has an inspiring message on the back of the package: “You’re pretty authentic and uniquely you, right? That’s the way we think snacks should be made too. With Fruitocracy, it’s what’s inside that matters most.”
And speaking of what’s inside, these snacks are geared toward health-conscience consumers, touting gluten-free, natural, non-GMO ingredients. The packaging, which by the way is BPA-free, makes sure you take notice by prominently displaying some of these key features in bold type and by using images that depict an outdoor, active lifestyle.
